Great result of Fernando Monje-Giacomo Piccini (Ferrari), the best in the third round

This Thursday and Friday at the Circuit de Catalunya Barcelona, test days of the Winter Series of the International GT Open.

Fernando Monje is conducting two days of test-today and tomorrow Thursday 12th, 13- day at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona as part of the Winter Series of the International GT Open. The European Champion Touring 2012 makes tandem with the Italian rider Giacomo Piccini, aboard a Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 team Kessel Racing, a duo that has already shown great rapport to set the fastest lap in the third qualifying session which has took place today.

The operation of these two days of tests made up of four rounds of private rehearsals for the International GT Open, where the team category Monk would fit. Focusing interest in it, both today and tomorrow this pairing has provided and will have 55 minutes to track each of the following four times: At 10, 12, 15 and 17 hours. All batches are rated by lap obtained by all drivers and at the end of the day, there is a combined overall ranking of the best times, with pole sitter but without subsequent races are held.

In the test has opened the morning, Monk-Piccini have set the third fastest time, stopping at 1: 48,706. In the second race, they have not been cut (1: 49,330) but have remained third behind team AF Corse (team which was exhibited at Paul Ricard), collecting many references are they essential to address the third test, where they have been the surprise getting the best time, 1: 47,804, marked on lap thirteen and, so far, best lap of the day. In the final round, the Italian-Argentine duo of Raffaele Giammaria and Ezequiel Perez-Companc (Ferrari 458 Italia GT3), was again top with a time of 1.46.742 that Monk-Piccini have been unable to lower, despite making only one stop to the pits and being, however, second with 1: 48,848.

'They're good records for us', explained Fernando Monje at the end of the first day. 'During the four opportunities that we have arranged we increasingly coupled to the car and as a team, and the best time of the third set us right. Tomorrow we will try to re-emphasize, despite the high competition; Ferrari is going well'.

The Winter Series, which this year celebrated the third edition, is a mini season the organizer of the International GT Open calls for pilots of this specialty return to action before the start of the championship. A trial was held in Jerez in mid-February; a batch of essays and a stroke of 60 minutes at Paul Ricard last week and, with the latter two test sessions in Barcelona, â??â??action will close.
