WTCC: New points to Fernando Monje (Seat)

28/04/2013

Slovakia Ring, Bratislava (Slovak Republic), April 28, 2013. - Very influenced by the Qualifying yesterday, one of the big losers in the accident suffered Darryl O'Young although his Seat Leon WTCC fully able, Today Fernando Monje has made the two races of the third round of the FIA â??â??World Touring Car Championship evolving, being well aware that he had to struggle to keep adding points in the Yokohama Drivers' Trophy, the competition reserved for independent drivers.

And so it was, the Campos Racing team rider finished both races in position of points. As was the case in 2012, Fernando season that ran on this track Slovak enrolled in the European specialty, Slovakia Ring circuit has not been conducive to the aspirations of the new pilot Grandvalira, I wanted to remove the thorn as the last had raced there once the impact of a loose part in the asphalt had broken the race car. Something very similar to what happened yesterday, but this time in full qualifying session, a session key in the WTCC as to who is outside the top ten, think of the top honors in the race is quite complicated. Yesterday, parts and threw stones O'Young's car after his spectacular crash, were the cause of the breakage of the windshield and radiator Fernando Lion, making it impossible for a good qualifying and, of course, access to the Q2 which this year had always had a place so far.

Starting from the position 22 in the first race and 18th in the second, in both Fernando Monje has more action, climbing up to seven seats in the race debut and two in which the event has closed. Thus, Fernando is in 8th and 7th among independent drivers, expanding the cumulative score in his locker particular.

After this event, the next weekend comes and the fourth of a total of twelve. It will be in Budapest (Hungary), at the Hungaroring, from 3 to 5 May. "As things went yesterday, today we can be happy with our performance in the race," said the pilot RACC at the end of the competition. "Now we have to move on and look ahead to the next round which is here at a track I've never run with the Seat Leon, although I know of when it was formulas," explains European Champion specialty.
